Paul Gray in Africa
Paul Gray served as a general surgeon at Soddo Christian Hospital (SCH, www.soddo.org) in Ethiopia from 2008 to 2014. His primary work and passion was as the program director of a general surgery residency program with the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS, www.paacs.net). PAACS is a non-denominational, multinational service organization that establishes and regulates general surgery residency programs at Christian mission hospitals in Africa with the intent of training African surgeons for Africa. With his wife, Becca, and two children, Nathan and Lydia, the Gray’s lived and worked at SCH to provide compassionate surgical care across a broad range of surgical specialties, to administrate the training program and help administrate the hospital, and to teach and disciple African doctors in service oriented surgical care.
